Our Judges

We are delighted to announce our panel of judges for our 4th annual Domeble Symetri student awards in 2024. The scope of our selected judging panel bring a huge amount of industry experience to the competition, each a leading voice in their field, collectively adding an impressive range of knowledge to the judges chamber. As well as this years judges we have a selection of studio managers, design directors, visualisation leads monitoring the awards from JLR, McLaren, General Motors, drive, Ceer Automotive, Autodesk and Swatch.

Carl Lyttle

Carl Lyttle Photography & Founder of Domeble

Carl is one of the world’s leading automotive image-makers, and early adopter of the use of CGI within his industry. With his proficiency in creating and developing 360° HDRIs, he established the first CG ready photographic library of its kind in 2007.

Now he leads his specialist team at Domeble with an astute focus on future technologies and the exploration of VR and mixed realities.

Ceer Automotive-Visualisation Manager

Managing Symetri’s Industrial Design and Visualisation (ID&V) department, Nick and his team assist clients to develop digital strategies across the entire spectrum of industrial design and visualisation. Originally an industrial designer, Nick has been working primarily in the automotive sector as a digital design consultant for over a decade with a focus on design, digital modelling, visualisation and XR.

With a combination of hands on industry experience and close partnerships with leading design software developers, Nick is uniquely positioned to identify and advise clients on emerging tools, trends and technology and how best to integrate them into their design pipeline. Nick also manages the training program known as the Academy, widely recognised across both industry and academia as the best in class training centre for professionals and students.

Coline Thibaut

The Swatch Group – Product CG Artist

Creative French CG Artist who left her home country in 2013 after she graduated from Rubika International School of Design to join the British automotive design industry.

Lead Automotive CG Artist at Optic Group, Coline then joined Bentley Motors Design department as 3D visualisation specialist. After 6 years into the Automotive industry, Coline made a jump last year by joining the Watch design industry at The Swatch Group in Switzerland. Also passionate by performing arts, Coline loves to use the artistic approach of storytelling and emotion to create the best visual experience for customers.

Henry Morshead

Hill Helicopters – Chief Designer

Henry is a specialist designer in the aerospace, automotive and motorsport sectors, and can be found wherever design, brand and high performance meet. 

Although Henry has a long history working with large OEMs across Europe, responsible for the production surfacing for prestigious projects like Jaguar’s C-X75, he is equally at home operating within a startup environment.

He is currently responsible for the interior/exterior design and digital modelling of the HX50 private helicopter. Building on the synergies between specialisations, Henry studied Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College and Vehicle Design at the Royal College of Art.  He has since led digital modelling teams in Alias and ICEMSurf.  He is also a leading cutaway illustrator and an ambassador for the Bloodhound supersonic car project.

Iain Ross

Motorvated Creative – Founder & Automotive Creative Director

Iain is the Creative Director at Motorvated Creative, founded in 2007 as a multidisciplinary ‘strategic-creative-resource’ – a consultancy that is dedicated to working within the international automotive / motorcycle / marine / aerospace brand communications sectors.

 He has been a major component in creating many communications strategies, concepts and multidisciplinary automotive campaigns for international automotive brands. Delivering key visual assets (created in both the studio and out on location), across the broad photography and film sectors – and in particular through the medium of CGI, for clients like Yamaha, Kia and Bentley Motors.

Victor is a former Gold award winner of the DSSA awards and now taking care of XR for automotive design on behalf of Autodesk, where his passion for tech empowers the Digital initiatives of the biggest Automotive OEMs.

Jamie Burdaky

General Motors – Visualisation Specialist

Jamie is a visualisation specialist for General Motors European Advanced design team, which he joined in 2023 after 10 years at JLR, and is a graduate of the automotive design course at Coventry University.

Jamie’s expertise include image creation, 3D animations and development of real-time assetts.

Ewen McRury

McLaren Automotive Principal Visualisation Specialist

Ewen leads the Visualisation Team within McLaren Automotive’s Design Team, were he and his team communicate the design intent and sell the latest design ideas inside and outside the automotive business. Ewen developed his vehicle composition skills in the real-world photographing cars which quickly translated into the virtual world using Autodesk VRED.

He has worked in the Automotive sector for 10 years using cutting edge visualisation tools and techniques to improve design decisions.
