Frequently asked questions

Q: What is an entry?
A: An entry consists of one photo, or a photo series if the category requires design stages, please check the category requirements for each category. For animations, a link to either a you tube video or vimeo video will be required.

Q: Should I watermark my entries?
A: No. we will need clean image / data entries to allow the judges to see your work as it was intended. Any published winning entries will be fully copyrighted to your name and you will be given a credit whenever possible.

Q: What is the maximum number of entries you can submit?
A: There is no limit to the number of entries that you can enter, but we ask that you follow the entry criteria properly and follow the submission rules set out in the competition T&Cs

Q: Will my images/entries be sold?
A: No. You retain the copyright to your photograph. However, your images can be used digitally as a part of the social media and press activities for the program. All on a NON-COMMERCIAL basis. You will be given credit /tagged wherever applicable.

Q: Can I submit the work I have previously created?
A: Yes. We will permit entries that have been created after January 1st 2022.

Q: When will the winners be announced ?
A: Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on September 7th 2023 in the company of shortlisted entrants, industry experts and industry press.

Q: What is the last date of submission?
A: The final deadline for entries is July 28th 2023.

Q: How are the entries judged?
A: Winners will be selected by a panel of judges selected by us. All our judges are industry experts and very well known in the industry.

Q: In what category should I enter my work?
A: There are 3 main categories, all with several awards in each category and a “Best College/University” award. Full details can be found here.

Q: Can I enter if I am from a college outside the UK?
A: Yes, we will accept entries from all students that are studying 3D, CGI and VR/AR during the academic year 2022/23.

Q: How do I submit my entry?
A: You can submit your entry via our website submission portal.

Q: Can I enter my work in more than one category?
A: You can enter multiple work in multiple categories, but not the same entry in multiple categories.  We are anticipating the awards to have a large number of entries, and because of this you can only submit each entry as a single entry, but there are no limits to you entering more than one piece of work in other categories providing there is no duplication.

Q: Is there an entry fee?
A: No, there isn’t. We want to encourage as much participation as we can get.
